The Cailleach in The Witch’s Rebirth

In The Witch’s Rebirth, the Cailleach is the Goddess of Wind, a primordial power older than kingdoms, older than memory, older than the gods who came after her. Her breath shapes mountains and tears down empires. She is neither good nor evil. She is necessary.
She stands among the guardians of the veil with the Morrigan, a fellow ancient goddess and weaver of fate, and the Druidic Order both reveres and fears her. Wind and storm obey her will. To some she brings wisdom and prophecy. To others, ruin. Her favor is both a blessing and a test.
For Merona, the Cailleach comes at the thresholds, the moments of transformation when the old life must be stripped away before the new one can begin. She tests her and guides her, and she never makes it easy.
“I am the breath before the storm and the gale that shapes the world. I strip away what is false. Only what is true can stand.”
She was last seen on the winds of Septimania as the veil thinned before Samhain, watching what is yet to come.
“I do not destroy for cruelty. I destroy so the world may remember how to breathe.”
Merona was born on Samhain, the very night the Cailleach’s season begins, and every time she dies, she rises again on that same threshold night.
Wear the Storm
In Merona’s Grimoire, the Cailleach is never summoned lightly. Those who speak her name know that some powers don’t serve. They simply allow you to stand in their presence. Our Cailleach, Goddess of the Wind tee from the Grimoire Collection is original artwork from The Witch’s Rebirth, made for the woman who has always felt the wind answer when she walks into it.
