A Broken Fragment of the Spear of Lugh — Origin of the Witch Hunter's Power
The Shard of Lugh itself is an original narrative invention for this series, not a traditional mythological object in its own right — no fragment or broken-spear tradition of this kind is attested in the surviving Irish mythological sources. It is built on top of the real mythological grounding of the Spear of Lugh (Cath Maige Tuired, Lebor Gábála Érenn), which the Shard is fictionally derived from within the story.
The Shard's parent object, the Spear of Lugh, carries real mythological weight as one of the Four Treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann, attested in Cath Maige Tuired and the Lebor Gábála Érenn and tied to Lugh's decisive intervention at the Second Battle of Mag Tuired — the same genuine tradition ARTIFACT-SPEAROFLUGH-001 documents in full.
